TREBINJE, OCTOBER 29 /SRNA/ - Trebinje's women's football club "Leotar" brings together more than 70 girls and young women in three competitive teams and is growing by the day, and one of its goals is to give talented young women from Herzegovina and promising young players quality conditions for development.

Coach Jelena Milović told SRNA that the club's membership has been growing since it was founded in 2022, confirming that women's football in Trebinje has a future.

"We are especially pleased that the number of girls is growing day by day, because it confirms that our work makes sense and that women's football in Trebinje has a bright future," Milović said.

She said "Leotar" competes in the BiH Premier League in the senior and cadet categories, and is currently in third place.

"Our goal is to stay in the upper part of the table. Still, it is equally important for us to develop players through competition and lay the foundations for the club's future," Milović stressed.

She said the biggest challenges they face are training conditions and limited funding, which, as she put it, make it difficult to develop the club and compete at the highest level at the same time.

"It isn't easy to build a club and compete at the highest level when you don't have the necessary conditions, but our love of football, team spirit and daily work on the pitch motivate us to keep going," Milović said.

She said the players' progress and the results achieved show that the effort is worthwhile, despite the challenges the club faces.
