KOMPANY HOSPITALIZED AFTER FALLING ILL AT TRAINING SESSION

MUNICH, OCTOBER 23 /SRNA-Reuters/ — FC Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has been transferred to the hospital after taking ill during training.

"Kompany is currently undergoing a thorough examination in the hospital and will remain under medical care. For now, the remaining coaching staff will lead training sessions and other operations," FC Bayern announced.

As clarified, Kompany required medical attention after collapsing during a reserve team training session.

The Belgian football manager had been suffering from a virus over the past few days and had missed several training sessions.

Bayern travels to Freiburg on Sunday for a domestic Bundesliga match.
