ŽUPLJANIN: SRPSKA MoI WILL FIND OUT WHO IS BEHIND THE THREATS AGAINST ITS PARLIAMENT

BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ – Security expert Slobodan Župljanin told SRNA that jihad-related threats sent to the National Assembly of Republika Srpska indicate that its institutions are primary targets, stressing that the Republika Srpska Interior Ministry, which he as the best security agency in BiH and beyond, would certainly identify the perpetrator and the ordering party.

Župljanin believes that, once the case has been solved, the Republika Srpska MoI will inform the relevant public and key security stakeholders in the region and worldwide, including Russia and the USA.

He assessed that the incident had further undermined the overall security situation and said that, above all, major powers, internationals in BiH, and the FBiH authorities should take measures to raise security levels in order to prevent potentially devastating consequences for the entire region.

"Security agencies in BiH and the region must not take such activities lightly. They must protect all citizens and their property and preserve peace and stability as the top priority," Župljanin said.

He says that radical Islamist elements still seek the introduction of Sharia law and the establishment of an Islamic republic, following Alija Izetbegović`s idea openly expressed in his Islamic Declaration.

Župljanin argued that Islamisation and militarisation were fundamental elements of policies coming from the FBiH, and that the jihadists had never abandoned their war aims and intentions, adapting their activities to global, regional and local circumstances.

According to him, amid fears arising from new circumstances in the process of establishing a new world order and redistributing global power, they were attempting to achieve initial results through threats and intimidation.

Župljanin assessed that current developments in the region and globally, particularly electoral processes in BiH, Serbia and Israel, appeared to be an ideal opportunity to pursue their objectives as part of a global confrontation with Christianity.

"The Jašarević case and the attack on the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade are highly synchronised and send clear messages to regional and global audiences," Župljanin concluded.

A threatening message was emailed today to the registry office of the Republika Srpska National Assembly, which, invoking jihad, called for the "elimination of all baptised people" and demanded the collection of money and weapons for the purposes of an "Islamic republic".
