ŽUPLJANIN: HELEZ'S STATEMENT ON ABOLITION OF SRPSKA - SHOT FIRED AT BiH

BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 10 /SRNA/ - President of the Organization of Senior Officers of the Republika Srpska Army /RSA/ Slobodan Župljanin believes that the statement of the Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers Zukan Helez that it is time to start a serious discussion on the abolition of entities in BiH, is a shot fired at BiH.

"The more ideas, attacks and pressures there are about abolishing Srpska, the more there is Republika Srpska, and less BiH," Župljanin told SRNA.

He added that this kind of statement by Helez shows and proves his complete immaturity, frivolity and irresponsibility in performing the function of Minister of Defense.

"The issue of the organizational structure of BiH is not in the area of responsibility of any minister in BiH. It is a matter of discussion and agreement only and exclusively by the three constituent nations and the two entities that make up BiH, and only they can decide whether and what BiH will be like in the future," Župljanin pointed out.

Župljanin reminded that the Republika Srpska was created by the determined will of the Serb people in peace, on January 9, 1992, that yesterday it celebrated its 34th birthday with dignity and that no one could prevent it, "especially not a minister of limited professional, moral and political capacity".

"There have been messages from Republika Srpska for years that the future of BiH should be discussed in conditions of peace and stability between the three constituent nations and two entities, as the only legal and legitimate negotiators. Unfortunately, such calls do not reach Helez and others like him," Župljanin emphasized.

He pointed out that Republika Srpska is an expression of the will of the Serb people and their desire for freedom, which did not exist when they did not have their own state.

According to him, Republika Srpska today has everything it needs as a state, namely territory, borders, sovereignty, population, financial stability, economic sustainability, and commitment to peaceful coexistence with others, which is why calls for talks for its disappearance are just empty dreams in the minds of foolish individuals.

"The Republika Srpska was created for eternity, out of love, not out of a whim, and as such it has lived all these years and will live for many more years," concluded Župljanin.
