WORK ON THE FIRST PHASE OF GASIFICATION OF THE EAST OF SRPSKA EXPECTED TO START IN JUNE

ŠEKOVIĆI, APRIL 23 /SRNA/ - The Minister of Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska, Petar Đokić, said that it is expected that the implementation of the first phase of the gasification project in eastern Srpska will begin in June.

After the meeting in Šekovići dedicated to the gasification of the eastern part of Srpska, that is, the construction of the first phase of the 48-kilometer main gas pipeline that would include the municipalities of Šekovići, Han Pijesak, Vlasenica and Milići, Đokić said that this project means a new development dimension for the eastern part and that gas will be able to be used by the economy and the population.

"In the initial phase, it will be a project that should create preconditions for the creation of a new environment, but it will certainly attract new investors and enable the eastern part of Republika Srpska to begin to develop economically in a different way, because today gas is an energy source without which there is no modern economy and modern industry," Đokić pointed out.

Đokić stated that the gasification of eastern Srpska will include the municipalities of Podrinje, Bratunac and Srebenica, and then continue towards Herzegovina.

"Our goal is to build a main gas pipeline through Republika Srpska on the route from Bijeljina to Novi Grad," said Đokić.

He added that it is necessary to approve this eastern interconnection, as well as the southern one, at the BiH level.

"We hope that it will also be completed," Đokić concluded.

He said that Srpska is ready to participate in these projects.

"It is important that the key institutions of the Republic, such as the Government and in this case the President of Srpska, stand behind the project with their strength and authority and encourage its development," Đokić emphasized and added that local communities, that is, municipalities, are also involved.

The meeting on the beginning of the gasification of the eastern part of Republika Srpska was also attended by the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Savo Minic, the Minister of Spatial Planning, Construction and Ecology Bojan Vipotnik, the general manager of "Sarajevo-gas" Nedeljko Elek, and the mayors of the municipalities Han Pijesak Slobodan Đurić, Vlasenica Miroslav Kraljević, Milići Marko Savić and Šekovići Miladin Lazić.

Representatives of the Republic Administration for Geodetic and Property Legal Affairs and the company "Gasteh" from Inđija were also present.
