WESTERN ALLIANCE TARGETED BANJA LUKA REGION WITH TOMAHAWK MISSILES

BIJELJINA, SEPTEMBER 8 /SRNA/ – On September 9, 1995, thirteen Tomahawk cruise missiles were launched from the U.S. ship Normandy in the Adriatic Sea at targets in the vicinity of Banja Luka.

At the same time, NATO aircraft destroyed a radio-relay tower on Mount Majevica, continuing the systematic destruction of telecommunications systems in Republika Srpska.

During NATO’s aggression against Republika Srpska throughout the years of the war in BiH, the Alliance dropped and fired 1,026 bombs and missiles, 708 of which were guided.

The total weight of the explosives dropped was approximately 10,000 tonnes.

A total of 153 Serb civilians were killed during the bombing.

During its air strikes on Republika Srpska, NATO used depleted-uranium munitions, targeting all radio and television transmitters throughout the territory of Republika Srpska.

Although only Republika Srpska was targeted, the uranium also affected parts of the FBiH.
