BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 4 /SRNA/ - The Republika Srpska Government today declared the Veliki Stolac Nature Park in the territory of the municipality of Višegrad.


The park encompasses the gorge-like and canyon valleys of the Drina River and the Brusnički Potok canyon, as well as habitats of Pančić's spruce and other endemic and relict plant species.


"This nature park is being placed under protection to preserve its biological, landscape, hydrogeological and geomorphological features, as well as to facilitate its use for leisure, recreation and health tourism, as it represents a combination of natural and man-made values," the Republika Srpska Government's Public Relations Bureau said in a statement.


The Veliki Stolac Nature Park covers an area of 16,886 hectares
