FOČA, MAY 18 /SRNA/ - A married couple from Israel was rescued from the summit of Maglić, the Foča unit of the Mountain Rescue Service /GSS/ told SRNA and warned that it is dangerous to venture into the mountains without a guide.

Nenad Ikonić, the head of the service, told SRNA that they received a call for help last night through the relevant ministries of Republika Srpska, BiH, and Montenegro. Around 11:00 p.m., two rescue teams headed toward the summit of Maglić, where new snow had fallen in recent days.

A married couple from Israel, who had previously stayed at the "Sutjeska" National Park, was found around 2 a.m. at the summit of Maglić.

The tourists had set out without a guide to the highest peak in BiH from Trnovačko Lake, which is located in Montenegro.

Ikonić said that the rescuers found them suffering from mild hypothermia and successfully brought them first back to Trnovačko Lake, and then to Prijevor, where they arrived around 9 a.m. this morning.
