BELGRADE, MAY 20 /SRNA/ – Today, the West is an empire of lies, and the first President of Republika Srpska Radovan Karadžić is becoming a symbol of truth – that the Hague Tribunal was, from its inception, a perverse institution created to hand down draconian life sentences to Serbs, while branding war criminals as victims, emphasizes Dr. Blažo Zlopaša.

Zlopaša pointed out that Karadžić's suffering in a British prison is an act of vengeful retribution against all Serbs, carried out by the British – historical enemies of Orthodoxy – through deprivation of food and medicine, banning contact with family, and denying access to books.

"If international law exists today," Zlopaša states, "its most egregious violation is taking place in the British torture facility where an innocent man who sought peace – with no evidence he desired war or committed a crime – is being held."

He stressed that Karadžić is enduring harsher torture today than Black leaders did under the infamous apartheid regime.

Over the past 150 years, Zlopaša noted, Great Britain has consistently acted against the Orthodox world in the Balkans due to its fear of Russia, always distrusting Orthodox Christians. The "chronicle of disgrace," he says, began in The Hague and continues in the British prison on the Isle of Wight, where an innocent man of exceptional moral, intellectual, and professional qualities lies suffering, facing starvation and possibly sepsis due to denied medical treatment.

Zlopaša compared British treatment of Karadžić to the atrocities of colonial times, when Western civilization chained indigenous people and left them to die of hunger and thirst.

According to him, the West has historically perfected methods of human torture since the Middle Ages – whether the victim was guilty or innocent – and British prisons are unparalleled in this regard, a grim testament to centuries of "evolution".

He declared that the Hague Tribunal remains a "court of disgrace" and a defeat for legal science, issuing life sentences to the innocent while letting the organizers of joint criminal enterprises go unpunished – those responsible for the breakup of Yugoslavia and the resulting civil war.

Zlopaša recalled that Serbs were sentenced in The Hague to over 1,300 years of imprisonment and as many as seven life sentences.

"The Hague Tribunal concealed ten million documents to hide the truth, handing down life sentences to innocent individuals who sought peace, while allowing war criminals, who instigated the conflict and brought about the suffering of the Serbian people, to walk free," Zlopaša told Politika.

He argued that Franjo Tuđman and Alija Izetbegović acted in direct opposition to Karadžić, and recalled that Croatia, through a joint criminal enterprise, conducted the largest ethnic cleansing in Europe since WWII. Through operations "Storm" and "Flash," and the Petrovačka Cesta massacre, more than 280,000 Serbs were expelled from their ancestral homes.

"Petrovačka Cesta wasn't a column of tanks or artillery, but tractors filled with elderly and children fleeing, bombed and machine-gunned. Even children were killed. One mother had her child shot dead in her arms," Zlopaša stated.

He also recalled Tuđman's declaration that the monstrous NDH (Independent State of Croatia) was a historical aspiration of the Croatian people, realized through Operation Storm, which should be banned just as Austria outlawed Ustasha gatherings and celebrations in Bleiburg.

Zlopaša also pointed to the wedding killing on Sarajevo's Baščaršija, the Dobrovoljačka Street massacre of 28 Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) soldiers, in which 50 were wounded and many captured and tortured. He emphasized that this crime was even greater because the soldiers were peacefully leaving Sarajevo in covered trucks – yet no one has been held accountable.

He also said Croatia has never reckoned with its fascist and Ustasha past.

"In pathological hatred for the Serbian people, Croatia has set out to destroy Serbian graves and disturb the dead in their ancestral lands. The pro-Ustasha Homeland Movement and HDZ are even bothered by Cyrillic script, which Goethe once called the most perfect alphabet on the planet – even when it's on Serbian graves. Stop and rest from pathological hatred!" Zlopaša urged.

Since May 2021, Karadžić has been imprisoned in the UK's HMP Isle of Wight, serving a life sentence after being convicted by the Hague Tribunal. In February, he was transferred to the prison’s medical wing for treatment.

This prison is considered one of the worst correctional facilities in the United Kingdom and does not meet many of the standards found in most European countries.
