BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 26 /SRNA/ - Organizations originating from the Defensive-Patriotic War expressed support for the decisions and conclusions of the leadership of Srpska, the National Assembly and the Government, aimed at rejecting politically motivated verdicts based on a non-existent, imposed law under which someone is held accountable for executing the will of his people in line with the Constitution, as it was in the case with the President of Srpska Milorad Dodik.
"Particularly unacceptable are the decisions of the Central Election Commission, as an operational administrative body in the electoral process, which seeks to strip the legally and legitimately elected President of Republika Srpska of his mandate outside the Constitution and against the will of a constituent people. If this is accepted now, we would be signing the death sentence for Republika Srpska and the Serb people, and could only share the fate of the Serbs from Republika Srpska Krajina in 1995," the veterans' organizations said.
They emphasized that the intellectual and patriotic potential of Srpska can safeguard the Republic, its President and property in conditions of peace, without the use or threat of force.
"The only condition is to ensure the highest level of national unity of all political and social actors in Republika Srpska, in Serbia, and everywhere the Serb people live and work. Around Republika Srpska we must now all be united, while political parties can compete with their programs in all other matters," the statement stressed.
Pointing out that the majority will of the Serb people will be verified and confirmed at the referendum on October 25, the organizations called on patriots of Republika Srpska to contribute to the undeniable success of the referendum and the victory of Srpska.
The statement adds that these organizations particularly value the high level of political and patriotic responsibility of outgoing Prime Minister Radovan Višković, to whom they are grateful for everything he has done for the veteran population, noting that he correctly assessed the situation and made, under the current circumstances, the best decision for the interests of Republika Srpska and the Serb people, thus creating space for new strength and new energy within the structure of Srpska's government.
According to the organizations, such new strength and energy are now essential for Srpska and for all committed to the resolute defense of its property and institutions.
"This is a historic opportunity that must not be missed, because there simply will not be another. To give up on Republika Srpska now would mean killing again the tens of thousands of Serb patriots of the 1990s who dreamed of the same freedom we dream of today. It would mean surrendering and betraying one's homeland for the interests of a hated enemy and a handful of dollars and euros for a fifth column. Future generations would never forgive us," the statement underscored.
They asked whether the will of the people would be respected or the will of Christian Schmidt, who has inflicted irreparable damage on all peoples in BiH.
"We want to believe that the times are over when the Serb people killed and handed over their own leaders to foreigners. Today, it is the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik by name, but any other after him would face the same fate. That would become a model of behavior for the occupying authorities and their collaborators," the organizations concluded.
The war veterans' organizations of public interest for Republika Srpska include: the Organization of VRS Officers, the Association of Veterans of Republika Srpska, the Union of War Invalids of Srpska, the Republic Organization of Families of Captured and Killed Soldiers and Missing Civilians, the Union of Camp Inmates of Srpska, and the Organization of Amputees of Republika Srpska.
