BANJALUKA, APRIL 1 /SRNA/ - Minister of Trade and Tourism of Republika Srpska Denis Šulić told SRNA that the Ministry, after an excellent winter tourist season, is starting preparations for the summer season and creating conditions for another record year in Srpska tourism.
"Behind us is an excellent winter season with a higher number of arrivals and overnight stays compared to the last one," said Šulić.
He pointed out that, according to the data of the Republika Srpska Institute of Statistics, in the period between December and February, there were 97,491 arrivals and 254,833 overnight stays in Republic of Srpska, which is an increase of more than 6,000 arrivals and 20,000 overnight stays compared to the same period last season.
"This is about recording arrivals and overnight stays in hotel facilities. The numbers are significantly higher when we add guests staying in private accommodation facilities. We have already started activities to record these guests with the Republic Institute of Statistics, while with the establishment of a central information system we will have a complete overview of all arrivals and overnight stays in Srpska," said Šulić.
He recalled that in connection with the preparation of the summer tourist season, he recently held a meeting in Jahorina with representatives of local communities and hoteliers in order to jointly create a plan of activities and events during the summer months in the Sarajevo-Romanija region.
"On Friday in Foča, I am having a meeting with all the institutions and business entities necessary for the preparation of the summer rafting season in the area of that municipality. Our goal is to create attractive contents for tourists, but also to provide them with all other conditions for arrival, stay and enjoyment in Srpska," concluded Šulić.
