DOBOJ, APRIL 29 /SRNA/ – The Economic School in Doboj today presented a accounting-learning programme, developed by second-year student Danijel Đukić from Teslić.

His mentor and accounting teacher Marija Stjepić told the press that the programme meets all pedagogical criteria and is aligned with the curriculum.

Stjepić emphasized that digitalization will significantly improve the quality of teaching compared to existing market and commercial software, and that students will be prepared for work with employers upon completing their education.

She explained that the programme internally connects computers and consists of two software components - one for teachers and one for students, allowing the teacher to monitor each student’s work in real time, point out mistakes, and assign prepared tasks.

"It also makes student assessment easier, as the teacher can automatically save all assignments," Stjepić said.

She described Đukić as versatile and talented, adding that he wrote a song performed by Cyprus's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021.

Đukić, a second-year student in the business informatics technician programme, said he began working on the software at the beginning of the year and had to master third- and fourth-year accounting material, which was the most challenging part.

He noted that there is room for improvement in terms of personalization, visual design, and data transfer between computers, as well as communication between students and teachers.

Đukić has been programming since the age of 12.

Fourth-year student Marija Juškić, also in the business informatics technician programme, said the programme allows accounting material to be mastered in half a class period, compared to the previous three to four classes required.

"The programme covers everything. It's clear and we don't have to draw anything," Juškić said.

School principal Dražana Mihajlović announced that steps will be taken to secure copyright protection for the programme.
