BANJA LUKA, April 30 (SRNA) – Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, called the Austrian Embassy’s statement regarding top officials of Republika Srpska anti-European, stating that a small political party in Austria—which he believes will soon disappear—is attempting to interfere in the internal affairs of BiH.
The Austrian Embassy announced today that bilateral measures are in effect to prevent entry into and transit through Austria for Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić, and Prime Minister Radovan Višković.
"Such measures reflect the nature of those behind them – and in any case, they won’t last long," Stevandić told SRNA.
He stated that Austria’s political response represents the lowest level of political communication seen within the EU.
He emphasized that a small political party with no real support among the large Serbian community in Austria is trying to interfere in BiH's internal affairs and dictate who represents an entire people
"This political party wants Austria to take sides in BiH and attempts to discredit an entire people through its representatives, knowing that the Serbian community in Austria supports other political options," Stevandić said.
According to him, support for the opposition in Republika Srpska further confirms this intention.
"We don’t choose who governs Austria – and they won’t choose who governs Republika Srpska," Stevandić concluded.
