BANJA LUKA, MARCH 24 /SRNA/ - Nenad Stevandić, Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, said today that there will be neither forgetting nor forgiveness until those who committed crimes repent.

"Forgiveness is in God's domain, and it is up to us to show every day that we are worthy of our ancestors, and that we do not forget or forgive crimes," Stevandić told reporters in Banja Luka, where he is attending a memorial service for the victims of the NATO bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which began on this day 27 years ago.

Stevandić stressed that remembering the NATO victims is also a remembrance of our dignity, and that this is one of the reasons why it is not possible to join NATO and be part of a world that killed Serbian children.

NATO began its aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia on March 24, 1999.

The aggression lasted 78 days, during which thousands of soldiers and civilians were killed, and material damage amounting to tens of billions of dollars was inflicted.

During the aggression, weapons prohibited by international conventions were used, including cluster bombs and depleted uranium munitions
