BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 3 /SRNA/ - Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandić said today in Banjaluka, before the premiere screening of Lordan Zafranović’s film The Golden Cut 42 – Children of Kozara, that the culture of remembrance is a culture of identity.

Stevandić said that all those who sought to prevent the Serbian people from preserving their culture of remembrance and allowing the crimes committed against them to be normalized were also destroying their identity.

"Through our spiritual renewal and greater self-awareness, we have restored our culture of remembrance. Therefore, without any ill intentions towards others, we believe that showing respect for innocent victims and the victims of genocide against our people must be part of an identity that is visible, recognized and passed on to future generations," Stevandić told reporters in Banjaluka.

He added that this was necessary so that, as a people, the Serbs could stand up to all those who believe they have a chance to "deny our rights, sovereignty, territory and identity."

The premiere screening of Lordan Zafranović’s film The Golden Cut 42 – Children of Kozara, about the suffering of Serbian children and the people of Kozara in the hell of the Ustaša-run Jasenovac camp in the criminal Independent State of Croatia /NDH/, has begun in Banjaluka.
