BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 8 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić said in Banja Luka that Srpska, in its 34th year of existence, remains unconquered and committed to preserving its dignity, as well as its constitutional and legal capacities.
Stevandić said that Republika Srpska was created under impossible geopolitical circumstances, but that those who demonized and bombed it ultimately signed its creation in Dayton.
"Srpska was isolated from Serbia, at a time of a weak Russia and the absence of any other factor except the new world order, which was at its harshest. Yet in our the most difficult days we endured and reached the point where even those who demonized and bombed us signed its creation in Dayton," Stevandić emphasized.
Speaking to journalists after wreaths were laid at the memorial to fallen soldiers of the Republika Srpska Army at the Saint Pantaleon Cemetery, he said that from that time until today those same have continued attempts to subdue Srpska.
"Republika Srpska remains unconquered even in its 34th anniversary. Unconquered are Milorad Dodik, the Serb member of the BiH Presidency, the Government and the prime minister, and the friendship with Serbia. Everything they tried to undermine has remained unconquered," Stevandić said.
He stressed that nothing is directed against other peoples, but exclusively toward preserving the dignity of Republika Srpska and its constitutional and legal capacities.
"We will continue to fight and remain unconquered at any cost; nothing will frighten or intimidate us," Stevandić underlined.
The Head of the Parliamentary Republika Srpska – Serbia Committee Dušan Marić says it is a great honour to be in Banja Luka today and tomorrow in order to take part in marking the 34th anniversary of Republika Srpska, especially for him personally, as he spent four years defending it as a member of the Republika Srpska Army.
"It is an honour for me to come here today as a representative of Serbia. In recent years, Serbia and Srpska have been achieving increasingly strong cooperation. The Agreement on Special and Parallel Relations is no longer a dead letter. What is particularly important is that exceptionally strong cooperation has been achieved in nurturing a culture of remembrance," Marić said.
He recalled that Serbia and Srpska jointly mark the Republika Srpska Day, the Day of the unity of Serbs , Freedom and the National Flag, the Day of Remembrance of the suffering of the Serb people in Jasenovac, Statehood Day, the breakthrough of the Thessaloniki Front, and the suffering of the Serb people in Podrinje.
