BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 31 /SRNA/ - The governing bodies in BiH should be constituted and begin functioning after the elections, which is also in line with the UN Security Council's conclusion that the elections were held peacefully and properly, in a democratic atmosphere, Professor Miloš Šolaja of the Faculty of Political Sciences in Banja Luka told SRNA.
"The Security Council meeting represents one of the key turning points and provides considerable guidance on the direction BiH should take and how it should develop, built on its own internal foundations," Šolaja stressed.
He said that a common position was expressed at the session that the High Representative should leave BiH.
"This should bring an end to any functioning of the Office of the High Representative, which is not provided for in the Dayton Peace Agreement, and the Peace Implementation Council no longer has any purpose," Šolaja stressed.
He said that the United States reaffirmed at the session that it would not abandon its previously stated position of not interfering in the internal affairs of states and leaving such matters to domestic institutions, and Russia supported the report of the Government of Republika Srpska.
