BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 10 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Justice of Republika Srpska Goran Selak told SRNA that it is possible to improve the efficiency of the judicial system and announced that amendments to many regulations will be proposed with that goal in mind.
In SRNA’s podcast, Selak emphasized that accountability will be established for all those who abused their positions and funds in public enterprises, noting that particular attention will be paid to the situation in 'Šume Republike Srpske' (Forests of Republika Srpska).
Speaking about the situation in BiH, Selak pointed out that the Serb people living in the territory of the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ are endangered, that Serb returnees face difficult living conditions, lack proper healthcare, and have their basic rights threatened.
“Republika Srpska helps these people, and institutions pay special attention, particularly regarding healthcare. We will talk with all institutional representatives, and I appeal to all responsible officials in the FBiH to deal with these problems. Republika Srpska will never abandon our people,” Selak stressed.
Selak, who also serves as president of the Socialist Party of Srpska /SPS/, said he is confident that the new president of Republika Srpska will be Siniša Karan, the SNSD candidate, noting that the ruling coalition’s decision to participate in the early elections represents a response to the opposition, which has shown no desire for national unity.
“The SPS is a coalition partner of the SNSD and was the first to support Karan. I will ask every municipal SPS committee to join the campaign together with our SNSD partners. Karan is a patriot, a man who has always served Republika Srpska, and someone who should lead the Republic in these challenging times. This will be a victory with a significant margin,” Selak said.
He emphasized that Sarajevo has prepared a scenario for the election of the president of Republika Srpska, which the ruling coalition has recognized.
“Then they say we don’t need to go to the polls—they would just open polling stations in the FBiH and elect the president of the Republic there!? Their plan was to create a scenario similar to that in Kosovo and Metohija. They would claim to have elected a president and changed the seat of his, dissolve the parliament, and trigger a new crisis,” Selak emphasized.
In the new episode of SRNA’s podcast, Selak also discussed the work of the Government of Republika Srpska, as well as its upcoming activities and plans for the next year.
SRNA’s podcast featuring Minister of Justice of Republika Srpska Goran Selak will be available to users tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. on our service, as well as on the YouTube channel and social media platforms.
