BANJA LUKA, MAY 23 /SRNA/ – The President of the Socialist Party of Srpska /SPS/ Goran Selak told SRNA that the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik delivered a statesmanlike speech in the National Assembly, sending messages of peace and calling for respect of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
"Republika Srpska did not cause the crisis. The crisis was caused by foreign actors. Republika Srpska is the one that has called for dialogue and talks, but the messages coming from political Sarajevo and Christian Schmidt have led to the current political crisis," Selak said in SRNA's podcast.
He stated that the opposition in Republika Srpska, which seeks to take power at the BiH level, lacks the capacity to initiate any processes, adding that this is exactly what Sarajevo wants – to install a compliant team from Srpska that would serve their interests.
"This is not good. The current government in Republika Srpska has the political capacity to act. However, they are looking for `acceptable` Serbs who would do as they are told," Selak said in the new episode of the SRNA podcast.
He believes that political Sarajevo, by attacking Republika Srpska, Serbia, and its leaders, is trying to score points with its electorate.
"That's a misguided policy. I think the citizens of the Federation of BiH are tired of that narrative. Now Dodik doesn't suit you, yet you used to come to him, pleading to be accepted into the government at the BiH level. The citizens have seen through this," Selak emphasized.
In the new episode of SRNA's podcast, Selak also spoke about the SPS, relations with Serbia, and why he declined a ministerial position in the Council of Ministers.
The new episode of SRNA's podcast, featuring SPS President Goran Selak, will be available tomorrow at 10:00 AM on our service, YouTube channel, and social media platforms.
