BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ – Justice Minister Goran Selak said that Republika Srpska has its own law on non-implementation of measures of the Constitutional Court of BiH, which constantly provokes Srpska.

Selak emphasized at a special session of the Government of Srpska in Banja Luka that in the past ten years there were two occasions when the president of the Constitutional Court of BiH unilaterally issued certain measures, which constitutes legal coercion and is highly unusual.

He pointed out that Republika Srpska is under great pressure from parts of the international community, the OHR, and the Constitutional Court of BiH, and stated that the focus of the new Government of Srpska will therefore be the defense of republican institutions and the protection of the constitutional order.

Selak emphasized that Republika Srpska respects the Dayton Peace Accords and that the Constitution of Srpska is also important.

He said it is evident that the new Government of Srpska has approached its work energetically, with clear messages about going out into the field, engaging with citizens, and taking a stance that all must act with national responsibility.

Selak, who is also president of the SPS, said it is important not to neglect economic and social responsibility and support for the approach of the Government of Republika Srpska.

He added that the doors of the Ministry of Justice will always be open to citizens, but that this will not influence court rulings.

“On the first Friday of every month I will receive all citizens and hear suggestions and comments about the judicial system of Srpska; we are available to everyone,” Selak stated.

He said he wants the judiciary to respond to the citizens of Republika Srpska, and for that reason he will visit all judicial institutions.
