SARAJEVO RESIDENT ARRESTED OVER OFFENSIVE INSCRIPTION ON SERB TRICOLOR MURAL

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 21 /SRNA/ – A Sarajevo resident identified as N.K. has been arrested on suspicion of writing the offensive inscription "genocidal" on a mural depicting the Serb tricolor in Istočno Novo Sarajevo.

Officers from the Istočno Novo Sarajevo Police Station, while investigating the criminal offence of inciting national, racial and religious hatred, discord and intolerance, obtained information linking the suspect, N.K., to the incident, the Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration announced.

Following operational and tactical measures to locate and find the individual, and through cooperation with officers of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior, the suspect was located and taken into custody.

Once the case has been documented, a report on the suspected criminal offence will be submitted to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH against N.K.

At 8:00 a.m. yesterday, the Istočno Novo Sarajevo Police Station received a report that an unidentified individual had damaged a mural depicting the flag of Republika Srpska on a residential building in Istočno Novo Sarajevo.
