EAST SARAJEVO, MAY 3 /SRNA/ - The Head of the War Veterans Organisation of Republika Srpska, Radan Ostojić, has pointed to the sad fact that the convoy of Serbs who paid tribute to the killed JNA soldiers in Dobrovoljačka Street was secured by almost half of the cantonal police, which shows that they are not welcome in federal Sarajevo.
Ostojić said that everything was dignified and peaceful, but that it is a sad fact that the hundred or so Serbs who paid their respects to the victims in Dobrovoljačka Street had to be secured by almost half of the active members of the Sarajevo Canton MoI, in uniforms, in plain clothes, there were also special forces.
"Then we hear the narrative of how we live in a common state. Remember that children from Serbia who came to visit this city were recently attacked in Sarajevo. Well, how would those children spend their time in wartime in Sarajevo," Ostojić asked.
According to him, now, as before, he has no hope that the unconstitutional judiciary in BiH will fairly prosecute war crimes against Serbs.
He believes that the scenario written before the beginning of the war was such that there is no justice for the Serb victims and will never be, just as there was no justice for those from the First and Second World Wars.
"The only justice we can expect is God's justice, and we pray for it today in the church of St. George in Miljevići. We also remembered our comrades killed in Dobrovoljačka Street in prayer, on the spot," concluded Ostojić.
East Sarajevo and Sarajevo has marked today 33 years since the attack on the JNA convoy in Dobrovoljačka Street in Sarajevo, in which paramilitary Muslim forces committed crimes against soldiers.
