BANJA LUKA, JUNE 26 /SRNA/ – Goran Rogić, president of the Presidency of the Banja Luka City Veterans' Organization, said Republika Srpska should adopt a unified position regarding the removal and burning of the Republika Srpska flag that had been placed on a flagpole along the Inter-Entity Boundary Line near Sarajevo.
"Such incidents must not only be condemned, but the perpetrators must also face the harshest possible penalties to prevent anything similar from happening again," Rogić told SRNA.
He described the incident as tragic and said it could not contribute to peaceful coexistence.
Rogić added that such incidents in the Federation of BiH were not surprising, claiming they had followed a systematic pattern, ranging from the destruction of monuments and Orthodox cemeteries to provocations involving the flags of the so-called Army of BiH, culminating in the burning of the Republika Srpska flag.
A video circulating on social media appears to show a group of individuals removing the Republika Srpska flag from a flagpole and then setting it on fire while shouting "Allahu Akbar" and using profanity.
According to media reports from the Federation of BiH, the flag had been flying on a flagpole erected along the Inter-Entity Boundary Line between Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH.
