REINFORCED SECURITY MEASURES STILL IN PLACE NEAR THE JEWISH CENTRE

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 4 /SRNA/ – Reinforced security measures remain in place near the Jewish Cultural Centre in Banja Luka and other facilities belonging to the Jewish community, the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior /MoI/ told SRNA.

MoI stated that members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and the Gendarmerie are conducting increased surveillance and undertaking preventive measures to preserve the safety of all citizens.

The Ministry emphasized that the current security situation in Republika Srpska is stable.

The MOI had previously announced that the measures were raised to a higher level due to the possible spillover of the crisis caused by the escalation of violence in the Middle East, bearing in mind the connections of certain individuals from the FBiH with extremist groups and their participation in terrorist attacks in BiH and across the globe.
