TEL AVIV, MARCH 26 /SRNA/ - The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik arrived in kibbutz Be'eri, where he was greeted by Avida Bachar, who lost his wife and son during the Hamas' attack.
In the Hamas' attack on his home, Bachar lost his right leg and on this occasion, he briefed the President of Srpska about those events, according to RTRS.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas carried out an attack during a music festival. On that occasion, more than 100 people died, and an unknown number of Israelis were captured.
After the massacre, the population of kibbutz Be'eri was evacuated.
Alon Ohel /24/, a citizen of Serbia, lived in Be'eri and was one of the people captured by Hamas during the music festival. Ohel managed to send a message to his family from captivity.
From December 2024, about 200 people returned to Be'eri, while hundreds of them lived in other places in Israel, including kibbutz Hatzerim.
The President of Srpska will attend an international conference on anti-Semitism today and tomorrow in Jerusalem.
Several hundred participants will take part in the conference, including officials and diplomats from the USA, France, the Netherlands and Spain.
The reception for officials is organized by Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will speak at the final plenary session.
Upon his arrival in Israel, the President of Srpska declared that this country shows that freedom and security have no price and that a people who know who they are, does not agree to be either a target or a follower.
"Just as Israel defends itself without apologizing, the Republika Srpska defends its right to exist, makes decisions and keeps the vow of its ancestors," emphasized Dodik.
