BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 12 /SRNA/ – The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, holds that position by the will of the people, and as long as he carries that will, he will determine the course of defense and development of the Republic, not bureaucrats with foreign passports or short-breathed politicians, the SNSD announced.
The statement stressed that today Draško Stanivuković, whether he admits it or not, showed that verdicts and decisions made by the will of a foreign governor are neither difficult nor unacceptable to him – on the contrary, he seems to rejoice in them.
“He masked it poorly, but revealed it perfectly – by trying to put Milorad Dodik below himself with a statement that, in serious politics, would be proof of political immaturity, lack of measure, and lack of respect,” the SNSD underlined.
The statement adds that Stanivuković avoids discussing a Government of National Unity and prefers to deal with cheap witticisms.
“This raises the question – is Stanivuković avoiding the topic because it would oblige him to join a united front against those who trample on the will of our people, or because it is more comfortable for him to remain loyal to the agreements from Sarajevo meetings and diplomatic salons where he promised the impossible just to come to power without elections?” the statement says.
Calling the Government of National Unity a “fight for seats” says more about the person making the statement than about the proposal itself, the SNSD pointed out.
“That idea did not come from a desire for positions, but from the awareness that, in the face of serious threats, we must show greater strength than all our political differences, because today it is not the SNSD or any party that is endangered – Republika Srpska is endangered, and that is the only seat in which we all sit together,” the SNSD said.
Today, Stanivuković has stated that “the verdict is here and that the President of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, is no longer president,” and that he does not support the Government of National Unity, because he believes it would only be a “fight for seats.”
