SAINT PETERSBURG, JUNE 17 /SRNA/ – Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska Alen Šeranić told SRNA that during his visit to the V.A. Almazov National Medical Research Centrer in Saint Petersburg, he discussed potential cooperation with the Srpska University Clinical Center /UCC/, particularly in the fields of PET and CT scan diagnostics, neurosurgery, and cardiology.
Šeranić stated that there is also a possibility for cooperation in the potential production of radiopharmaceuticals.
"Almazov has a developed telemedicine centre and is one of the national hubs in that field. I familiarized myself with the Centre's operations, especially their model of providing consultative-specialist services to other hospitals, which is a model that could be applied by Srpska UCC as well," said Šeranić.
He added that the general director of the centre Evgeny Shlyakhto informed him about Almazov's plans to build a large complex that combines education and the provision of medical services.
"This goes hand in hand and is a model similar to the one planned for the construction of a medical complex in Paprikovac, Banja Luka," said Šeranić.
The minister of health and social welfare of Republika Srpska previously visited the state-funded educational institution Grot Boarding School in Saint Petersburg.
