PERMANENT EXHIBITION COMPLETED WITH VIDEO TESTIMONIALS OF JASENOVAC INMATES

KOZARSKA DUBICA, APRIL 7 /SRNA/ - The permanent display of the Donja Gradina Memorial Area has been completed with video testimonies of Jasenovac camp inmates, Director of the Public Institution Tanja Tuleković confirmed to SRNA today.

Tuleković stated that the production of video materials with the testimonies of survivors represents a significant contribution to the preservation of authentic memories of the horrors of the Jasenovac camp and the fate of the survivors.

"The video material is from the archives of the Donja Gradina Memorial Area, and it was created through the collection and field work of the curators who interviewed the surviving inmates of the Jasenovac concentration camp," Tuleković said.

Certificates have an English translation for foreign visitors.

The permanent exhibit in the exhibition hall of the Donja Gradina Memorial Area consists of an exhibition about the Jasenovac concentration camp, photos, documents, objects and weapons used for the liquidations, colors and a map of the camp.

The memorial area of ​​Donja Gradina preserves the memory of the 700,000 victims of the Jasenovac concentration camp. Researches and scientifically presents the Ustasha crime of genocide in the Jasenovac camp and the Independent State of Croatia and maintains the memorial area.

This year, the Memorial in Donja Gradina in April marks the 80th anniversary of the breakthrough of the last group of surviving Jasenovac camp inmates on April 22, 1945.
