BELGRADE, APRIL 2 /SRNA/ - Professor of the East Sarajevo University Srđan Perišić assessed that the decision of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to receive the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik in Moscow proves Russia's readiness to protect Srpska in all dimensions.
Speaking about Dodik's meeting with Putin in Moscow, Perišić explained that it shows the constant pace of the foreign policy of Republika Srpska, but also the need for Srpska to have a protective force at the moment of the strongest attack on its constitutional order.
"The meeting between Putin and Dodik in Moscow is a confirmation of the consistency of the Srpska foreign policy, which is being carried out by President Dodik," Perišić told SRNA.
He reminded that Republika Srpska has started building its own foreign policy in recent years, because the foreign policy of BiH has been usurped by Sarajevo and the West.
"Srpska is forced to build its foreign policy, and the main place is occupied by Russia. It is traditionally the protector of the Serbs in the Balkans, and the foreign policy of President Dodik recognized this, bearing in mind that in the last more than 200 years, Russian interests have been compatible with the interests of the Serbs in the Balkans," Perišić explained.
According to his words, Dodik understands this very well and understands that Russia's support is necessary for defense against the biggest blow to the constitutional order of Republika Srpska and BiH.
Perišić expressed his belief that Russia will certainly help Srpska.
"Russia is extremely interested in helping Republika Srpska. We do not and will not know all the details of the conversation between Putin and Dodik. But the very fact that President Putin received Dodik very quickly speaks of the urgency and also of Russia's readiness to protect Republika Srpska," Perišić concluded.
