UGLJEVIK, FEBRUARY 9 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska should not fear for its future when patriotism becomes a life philosophy, emphasized the Minister of Labor, War Veterans' and Disabled Persons' Protection, Radan Ostojić, at the traditional event Jović Days in Donja Trnova near Ugljevik, held in honor of RSA hero Colonel Milan Jović.
Ostojić emphasized that Colonel Jović's life path and philosophy serve as an example for everyone and should be passed on to young people.
"If they adopt a life philosophy like that of Colonel Jović, they will surely become patriots, honorable and honest people, ready at every moment to defend their homeland," Ostojić said.
He said that he has been coming to this site for years to pay tribute to Colonel Jović, as he does today, together with comrades, friends, and acquaintances.
"We should certainly be proud that we had such a man. We are all proud to have been Colonel Jović's fellow soldiers and to have had the honor of learning from his deeds," Ostojić said.
He also called for the war never to happen again, and for freedom and honor to be defended in peace.
Ostojić pointed out that Colonel Jović demonstrated how Majevica, Semberija, and Republika Srpska are defended.
Colonel Milan Jović was killed on February 9, 1993, in the Muslim village of Bilalići while leading fighters near the Muslim stronghold of Teočak. He was posthumously awarded the Order of the Nemanjić.
At the traditional event in Donja Trnova, a large number of Colonel Jović's comrades and citizens gathered, along with the leadership of the Ugljevik municipality.
