XI: GREAT RENAISSANCE OF CHINESE PEOPLE UNSTOPPABLE

BEIJING, SEPTEMBER 30 /SRNA/ – Chinese President Xi Jinping said in Beijing that the realization of the great renaissance of the Chinese nation is unstoppable.

At a reception marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Xi emphasized that, after many years of exploration and practice, the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics has demonstrated significant advantages, while the modernization of the country’s governance system and capabilities has continued to advance, the China Media Group reports.

"As long as we firmly believe in our goals, remain unwavering in pursuing them, and resolutely move forward step by step, success will certainly belong to the great Communist Party of China, the great Chinese people, and the great People’s Republic of China," said Xi, who is also General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Xi emphasized that over the past 77 years, the Communist Party of China has united and led the people in tireless struggle, creating two major miracles – rapid economic development and long-term social stability.

China has achieved its first centenary goal, namely building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, while is now advancing courageously toward its second centenary goal – building a strong, modern socialist country in all aspects.

"At this moment, we are extremely proud of the achievements of the new China, which have attracted the attention of the entire world, and we are full of confidence in the bright future of Chinese modernization," Xi said.

He underlined that since the beginning of this year, the CPC and the Chinese people have continued to work with determination and dedication, drawing up and implementing the 15th Five-Year Plan and steadily advancing work in all fields.

China’s economy has continued to move forward despite pressures, demonstrating a drive toward new and better outcomes and showing strong resilience and vitality, while the work of the Party and the state has achieved new results.

"We must uphold the fundamental principle of work – stability with progress, fully, accurately and comprehensively implement the new development philosophy, accelerate the creation of a new development framework, further deepen reform and opening up, better coordinate development and security, promote sustained, sound and favourable economic development, efficiently protect and improve people’s living standards, strive to fulfill the annual targets and tasks, and make a good start to the 15th Five-Year Plan," Xi stressed.

Xi emphasized that China must unwaveringly implement the policies of "one country, two systems," "Hong Kong administered by Hong Kong people," and "Macao administered by Macao people," as well as a policy of a high degree of autonomy. He stressed the need to support Hong Kong and Macao in better integrating into and contributing to the country’s overall development while maintaining their long-term prosperity and stability.

"We must deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, firmly oppose separatist forces advocating `Taiwan independence,` oppose interference by external forces, promote the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations, and advance the great cause of national reunification.

"We must adhere to an independent foreign policy of peace, promote the implementation of the four major global initiatives, advance the building of a community with a shared future for humanity, and bring more certainty and positive energy to a world filled with change and turmoil," Xi emphasized.

Xi extended holiday greetings to members of all ethnic groups across China, officers and soldiers of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and members of the People’s Armed Police Force, as well as members of the democratic parties and non-party figures.

He also conveyed cordial greetings to compatriots in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan, as well as to Chinese nationals living abroad, and expressed sincere gratitude to friendly countries and international friends who have long supported China’s development.

Amid cheerful music, Chinese and foreign guests raised a toast to the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, wishing the country prosperity and well-being and long-lasting friendship between the Chinese people and the peoples of all countries across the Globe.

The reception, held at the Great Hall of the People, was attended, among others, by numerous guests from across China and the Chinese diaspora, as well as ambassadors of foreign countries, representatives of international organisations, and some foreign experts.
