BANJA LUKA, JUNE 22 /SRNA/ – The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should not allow itself to be manipulated by Bosniaks through political pamphlets and, more importantly, should not support the undermining of the Dayton Peace Accords under the guise of defending it.
Dodik pointed out that respecting the Dayton Agreement is entirely incompatible with supporting a foreign official who entered BiH in violation of the procedures outlined in the agreement itself.
“It is precisely that foreigner who is the source of the crisis and the denier of BiH’s sovereignty. Support for such an illegal foreigner constitutes a direct violation of the Dayton Agreement and a demonstration of disrespect for BiH,” Dodik noted.
Dodik said that within the Peace Implementation Council (PIC), the OIC is represented by Turkiye and said that if these actors truly supported BiH’s sovereignty, they would have long ago initiated the disbanding of this informal body, which has no legal basis in any document.
“Republika Srpska operates politically solely in accordance with the Dayton Agreement and the Constitution of BiH, and any concern over unconstitutional actions should be directed exclusively at Sarajevo,” Dodik wrote on X.
According to him, Republika Srpska maintains good and friendly relations with many member states of the OIC and believes these countries have been misled by the manipulations of Bosniak politicians.
“Such positions do not foster understanding in BiH but instead further deepen mistrust,” Dodik concluded.
At the session of foreign ministers of the OIC member states held in Istanbul, a declaration was adopted condemning what was described as “attempts to destabilize BiH.”
