KOZARSKA DUBICA, APRIL 22 /SRNA/ - The two-day international scientific conference "NDH and Jasenovac concentration camp in the light of modern research" will be opened today in Donja Gradina.
Experts from Republika Srpska, Serbia, Hungary, Israel, Russia and Norway will participate in the conference, including the Israeli historian Gideon Greif.
The topics of the conference are new contributions to the research of the Ustasha crime of genocide in the NDH and the causes and consequences of the Ustasha ideology, then the Holocaust and the genocide of the Roma or Porajmos, and studies on war and genocide during the Second World War.
The conference is organised by the Donja Gradin Memorial Zone Public Institution under the auspices of Republika Srpska President, Milorad Dodik, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the breakout of the Jasenovac camp inmates.
The conference will open at 9:30 with the three sessions being held on the first day.
According to the programme, professor Gideon Greif will hold a lecture "Comparative analysis of the two extermination camps Jasenovac and Auschwitz" at 12.15 in the second session.
On the second day of the conference, a history lesson is planned in the Donja Gradina Memorial Zone at 10:00, and a tour of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Draksenić.
Publication of the collection of paper is planned after the end of the conference.
