OHR DECLARATION CONFIRMS SCHMIDT HAS NO RELEVANCE IN SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, MAY 26 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić assessed that it was extremely important that the parliament adopted the Declaration on the Closure of the Office of the High Representative /OHR/, which, he added, once again demonstrates that Christian Schmidt is absolutely irrelevant to Republika Srpska.

"I am extremely satisfied that we secured a two-thirds majority and that the act was harmonized. This is an example of how we should function," Stevandić told reporters.

Stevandić also expressed satisfaction that other acts important for Republika Srpska were adopted today.

The Declaration, which contains eight conclusions, was supported by 57 of the 60 deputies present.

The adopted document states that the National Assembly, as the highest authority of Republika Srpska - a signatory party to Annex 10 of the Dayton Peace Accords demands that the UN Security Council urgently adopt a resolution ending the mandate of the High Representative in BiH and closing the OHR.
