OŠTRA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ - Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska Željko Budimir said that there is a preliminary design for the construction of a new police station in Oštra Luka and that he is confident that the Government of Republika Srpska will soon support its implementation.
"We will certainly consider the construction of a new police station covering 537 square meters, and the Government of Republika Srpska will certainly support this project," Budimir told reporters after a meeting with Oštra Luka Mayor Duško Došenović and representatives of the police station.
He noted that the Government of Republika Srpska has also supported many other projects in this municipality, one of the strategic ones being the construction of a water supply system.
"The Government of Republika Srpska pays attention to the border municipalities of Srpska because it is important for the population to remain here and not move to larger cities," Budimir said.
He said that the meeting also discussed the security situation in the Oštra Luka municipality, which was assessed as satisfactory.
Budimir stressed that the meeting also addressed ways to improve the work of the police at this station, where an additional number of police officers will be deployed in the coming period.
Oštra Luka Mayor Duško Došenović told reporters that Budimir’s visit was of great importance to the local community.
"It is important for someone from the Government of Republika Srpska to visit a small municipality, because this is of great importance for its development," Došenović said.
Police Administration Chief Dragan Milojica said that the meeting analyzed certain projects that are expected to be implemented in the coming period.
"We received two new vehicles and some additional equipment for police officers to make their work easier," Milojica said.
