BANJA LUKA, JUNE 14 /SRNA/ – Officers of the Ministry of Interior /MoI/ of Republika Srpska, in cooperation with the Information and Communication Technologies Agency, are undertaking measures and activities, in accordance with their legal powers and responsibilities, to determine all facts related to the appearance of data belonging to users of the Agrarian Payments Agency on the dark web, the Ministry told SRNA.
Earlier today, the Republika Srpska Government announced that the data of 51,000 users of the Agrarian Payments Agency services found on the dark web did not originate from a government website and that the matter had been reported to the High-Tech Crime Unit of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior.
“The information that appeared on the dark web is not, as claimed there, information taken from the official website of the Republika Srpska Government. This is a blatant misuse of personal data and manipulation of information, causing damage to the reputation of the Republika Srpska Government,” the Government stated.
The Government added that immediately after learning that data relating to 51,000 users of the Agrarian Payments Agency had been published on the dark web, it informed the High-Tech Crime Unit of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior.
