TREBINJE, APRIL 5 /SRNA/ - "Hidroelektrane na Trebišnjici" /Hydropower Plants on Trebisnjica/ /HET/ produced 250 gigawatt-hours of electricity in the first quarter of this year, which is in line with the plan, and the latest rainfall cycle has significantly improved the level of the Bileća artificial lake, Milan Mitrović, the executive director for system management at the company, told SRNA.
Mitrović says that, from a production standpoint, they are satisfied at this point in the year.
He says that the hydrology in the last part of the previous year was exceptionally poor, but that the recent rainfall has helped recover the level of the Bileća artificial lake.
"In the latest rainfall cycle, approximately 250 liters of rain per square meter fell in the Trebišnjica river basin, so we can be satisfied. We benefited from the recent rainfall, managed to preserve every drop in the artificial lake, and thus contributed to the system's stability," said Mitrović.
According to him, the operational readiness of the units is at an impressive level.
"It is important to point out, from the perspective of the overall energy system, that in the last five months, HET produced 125 gigawatt-hours more electricity than planned.
These were the system's needs, and if we were to convert that into energy in the Bileća artificial lake, we would reach the planned level," said Mitrović.
He added that the current level of the Bileća artificial lake is 9.5 meters below the plan, but the last two rainfall cycles have significantly improved the level by 15.5 meters.
Mitrović says they expect that the Company "Hidroelektrane na Trebišnjici" will continue to demonstrate its stability this year, as it did in previous years when it achieved its set goals in terms of production and business results.
"'Hidroelektrane na Trebišnjici' has demonstrated its strength in terms of stability and the company can meet the demands of the parent company 'Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske' /Electric Power Company of Republika Srpska/ at any given moment," said Mitrović.
