TREBINJE, JUNE 11 /SRNA/ – Dean of the Faculty of Production and Management in Trebinje, Obrad Spaić, presented a plaque to the Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, Željko Budimir, in recognition of his outstanding merits and contribution to the development of this higher education institution.
Minister Budimir also visited the Academy of Fine Arts in Trebinje today and met with the director of the Trebinje Student Center, Davor Milidragović, with whom he discussed the institution’s operations, student accommodation conditions, and future plans.
Yesterday, Minister Budimir attended the ceremonial opening of the two-day International Scientific Conference “150 Years Since the Herzegovina Uprising: Impact on Regional Security and European Geopolitics” in Nevesinje.
The conference was opened yesterday in Nevesinje, and on that occasion, Minister Budimir stated that the event is important not only for shedding light on history but also for understanding current relations in the Balkans, as Serbs remain focused on the same issue – Serbian liberation and unification.
Budimir emphasized that the great importance of this gathering also lies in the fact that it is a multidisciplinary conference bringing together prominent historians, geopolitical analysts, and university professors from Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, and Republika Srpska, who will highlight from various perspectives the significance of the Nevesinje Uprising for both historical and contemporary international relations.
The two-day International Scientific Conference “150 Years Since the Herzegovina Uprising: Impact on Regional Security and European Geopolitics”, featuring historians, political scientists, academics, and distinguished experts from Republika Srpska, Serbia, Russia, and France, continued in Trebinje. The conference focuses on the socio-political circumstances preceding the Herzegovina Uprising and its national and historical importance.
The event is organized by the Institute of Historical Sciences of the University of East Sarajevo and the Institute of International Politics and Economics from Belgrade, with the support of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Technological Development of Serbia and the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska.
