BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said in Banja Luka today that trade is very important for Srpska`s economy, not least because it employs more than 50,000 workers.

Minić noted that through trade, Republika Srpska ensures the exchange of goods, as well as everything needed for that economic activity to function properly.

"The trade sector in Republika Srpska is currently showing continuous growth," Minić told reporters at the opening of the Regional Trade Summit.

He stressed that Republika Srpska is aware that some economic sectors are facing problems due to rising energy prices and market changes.

"That is why the Government of Srpska is preparing new sets of appropriate measures, which it agreed on yesterday and which will be adopted tomorrow as information," Minić announced.

Minić said it was good that there is great interest in the summit, where many relevant participants will adopt useful conclusions and ideas that the Government of Srpska intends to implement.

The summit is being held at the "Banski Dvor" Cultural Center and brings together business leaders, policymakers and innovators from the Balkans with the aim of shaping the future of trade and regional cooperation.

Over two days, the event will gather business people, representatives of institutions and experts from the region, with five panels, three lectures and opportunities for discussions that could lead to new partnerships, the organizers said.
