MINIĆ: SRPSKA HAS THE ABILITY TO FOLLOW GLOBAL TRENDS

BANJA LUKA, JULY 30 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said that the prototype sniper rifle, jointly developed by Banja Luka-based company Kosmos and the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior /MoI/, demonstrates that Srpska can follow global trends in the defence industry.

Speaking after the rifle was unveiled at the shooting range of the Republika Srpska MoI Training Centre in Zalužani, Minić said he was confident that the rifle would see wide use, which is highly commendable because it is a domestically developed product.

"The rifle uses a universally accepted calibre that is employed by armed forces around the world, as well as by hunters," Minić told reporters.

After testing the rifle, Minić described it as a highly accurate, reliable and compact weapon that delivers excellent performance.

He expressed hope that, after the completion of this production batch of rifles for the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Kosmos would continue to develop additional variants and adapt the weapon to meet the demands of the modern market.

The presentation was also attended by Republika Srpska Minister of Interior Željko Budimir, Police Director Siniša Kostrešević, and Kosmos Director Dušan Vještica.
