MINIĆ: ALL MECHANISMS WILL BE USED TO PREVENT NUCLEAR WASTE DISPOSAL AT TRGOVSKA GORA

BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 24 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said today that all available mechanisms, including international institutions, will be used to prevent the disposal of nuclear waste at Trgovska Gora in Croatia.

Minić asked what else could be expected from Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković but to claim that Trgovska Gora would be a safe site for nuclear waste disposal.

"Our responsibility is to do our job, and Croatia's decision on the disposal site does not contribute to good neighbourly relations," Minić told reporters in Banja Luka.

He added that there are a number of locations in Croatia suitable for nuclear waste disposal that are farther away from Republika Srpska and BiH.

Croatia plans to store radioactive waste from the Krško Nuclear Power Plant, as well as existing institutional waste, at the Trgovska Gora site in the municipality of Dvor, right on the border with BiH.
