BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 4 /SRNA/ - The Head of the SNSD Caucus in the Republika Srpska National Assembly, Srđan Mazalica, said that amendments to the Law on the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises would help ensure that decisions on incentives for such enterprises are made in a more flexible way.

Mazalica believes it is necessary to introduce changes in this area, as the circumstances in which businesses operate are constantly changing.

“Digital transformation, equipment procurement, exports; these are all areas that require incentives, and the Government needs to adapt to circumstances, define the goals of economic growth, and, accordingly, set the conditions for granting incentives,” said Mazalica during the debate on these amendments.

PDP MP Mirna Savić Banjac believes that the proposed legal solution is not good, that it does not contribute to the improvement and development of small and medium-sized enterprises, and that adequate transparency in the incentive allocation policy has not been ensured.

United Srpska MP Milan Trninić said that small and medium-sized enterprises are the backbone of Republika Srpska and make a significant contribution to economic development, so it is not surprising that these amendments are being adopted under an urgent procedure.

He believes that additional education is needed for the owners of these enterprises regarding the process of granting incentives, so that they are familiar with the entire procedure.

“The government should be a strategic partner to small and medium-sized enterprises and should monitor how the incentives were used and what effects they produced,” said Trninić.

He added that every simplified procedure for granting incentives represents an investment in the economy, and, therefore, in the development of Republika Srpska.
