BANJA LUKA, JUNE 2 /SRNA/ - Minister of Science and Technology Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska Draga Mastilović said that young people, especially students, are the main strategic resource of Srpska, and that a cycle of increased investment in science is planned for this year.

Mastilović noted that it is planned for allocations for scientific projects in the next year to be increased several times compared to the current ones.

"A very significant project awaits us this year, which is the construction of a science and technology park on the campus of the University of Banja Luka, which will be the backbone of the science and technology development of Republika Srpska," Mastilović told reporters at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Banja Luka, where the President of the Government of Srpska Savo Minić held a lecture "Republika Srpska - Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow".

He thanked the Government of Republika Srpska and Prime Minister Minić for the support for the realization of these activities, but also for the increased allocations for the development of higher education, as well as student standards, where a serious step forward was made.

"We are unique in the region, and perhaps even wider, because our students have free education and accommodation in student dormitories, as well as food subsidies, and we award more than 1,000 scholarships annually," said Mastilović.

Mastilović mentioned that in the previous period, the Government of Srpska allocated significant funds for infrastructure and university and faculty facilities, which significantly contributes to raising the quality of higher education.

"Our goal is to keep as many young people as possible in this area and to provide them with the highest quality studies in Srpska, and I think we are going in the right direction," said Mastilović.
