KOVAČEVIĆ: SRPSKA HAS RIGHT TO STATE THAT VUČIĆ IS THE BEST CHOICE

BIJELJINA, OCTOBER 22 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska has the right to express its position that electing the United Serbia list, headed by Aleksandar Vučić, is the best solution for both Serbia and Republika Srpska, said Radovan Kovačević, a Serb deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.

"Republika Srpska always follows everything that happens in Serbia. We have no other home besides Srpska and Serbia. We are deeply affected by everything that is said about us from Srpska by certain circles in Serbia, but we are absolutely certain that these represent a minority within Serbia," Kovačević said.

He says he does not understand why people accepted that absolutely everyone has the right to express an opinion on events and the political situation in Serbia and to have their preferred candidates in elections, while people from Republika Srpska, who has always stood by Serbia, are denied that right.

"It is quite shocking. We from Republika Srpska love Serbia, having love for every person in Serbia. But just as you give those in Zagreb, Tirana and Priština, who think the worst of Serbs, the right to be against Vučić, let us, who love the Serb people, to make our choice and say that Vučić is the best solution for Serbia and Srpska," Kovačević said.

He emphasizes that Republika Srpska - Serbia relations has never been better than during Aleksandar Vučić’s time in office.

"Those relations have always been good, but they have never been anywhere near as good as they are now," Kovačević said, adding that there was not a single local community in Republika Srpska where Serbia had not built something.

He stressed that improvements were evident across all categories of life in Serbia and that people live better in every respect.

"Furthermore, we see that Serbia’s international standing is a million times better and that there is no address anywhere in the world, neither in the East nor in the West, where Vučić’s position is not taken into account and respected," Kovačević said.

When the shameful resolutions on Srebrenica were adopted, Kovačević says, Republika Srpska and Serbia stood together as one team, and they should always continue to do so.

"We know very well that Serbia loves Republika Srpska, just as Republika Srpska loves Serbia," Kovačević told TV Prva.

To everyone who denies Republika Srpska the right to choose who is best for Serbia, Kovačević points out that Republika Srpska is Ivo Andrić, Jovan Dučić, Petar Kočić, Predrag Danilović and Tijana Bošković, who have represented Serbia in the best possible way.

He says he expects the United Serbia list to win and that the people of Serbia would vote for continuity in government, just as Serbs in Republika Srpska have done in recent general elections in BiH.

"The people of Republika Srpska stood united behind the policies of Milorad Dodik and a government committed to maintaining good relations with Serbia and Vučić, which wants these good relations to serve as the main foundation for the future of both Srpska and Serbia," Kovačević said.

He emphasizes that preserving stability in Serbia is important to Republika Srpska, adding that he hopes work on projects important to both Srpska and Serbia will continue next week.

"We want Vučić and Dodik to continue working to make Srpska and Serbia better places to live," Kovačević concluded.
