KAŠIKOVIĆ: SITUATION AT FIRE SITES STABLE

TREBINJE, AUGUST 24 /SRNA/ - A fire remains active in the Zubci area near Trebinje, but the situation is stable, while firefighters had a demanding night, Trebinje Fire Department Commander Dejan Kašiković told SRNA.

Kašiković said the most difficult situation was along the route toward the village of Tuli, particularly near the road at Drača, where there was a serious risk of the fire spreading toward the city landfill.

"The situation was also very challenging along the route toward the village of Kremeni Do, while active fire lines were present in other directions of fire sites. Thanks to the maximum efforts of all teams, a timely response and coordinated operation, further spread of the fire toward the endangered areas was prevented during the night," Kašiković stressed.

Efforts to combat the wildfire are continuing, with all critical points still being continuously monitored.
