KARAN: TRUTH ABOUT TRAGIC CONFLICT AND POLITICAL PROCESSES IN BiH HAS REACHED CENTRES OF POWER

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 17 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan said that the international circumstances had changed significantly and objectively in favour of Republika Srpska, and that the world now knows the full and true story of the tragic conflict in BiH and all the political processes.

"Our key political figures in Republika Srpska — Milorad Dodik, Željka Cvijanović and Ana Trišić Babić — recognized the change in the political circumstances in the world three years ago, and we moved in step with it to change the negative narrative about Serbs and Republika Srpska that had persisted for 30 years," Karan stressed.

He said that this negative narrative had now completely changed.

"For 30 years, the narrative persisted that officials of Republika Srpska, who are the strongest defenders of the Dayton Peace Agreement, should be blamed for undermining it, while those who are actually undermining it got away with it. Our version of the truth, and the actual truth, has managed to reach centres of power — the United States, Israel, Hungary and other countries, just as we have always managed to do in Russia," Karan told RTRS.

He said that BiH remained unstable 30 years after the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement because the Bosniak political elite considered BiH to be theirs and themselves dominant over the other two peoples, refusing to accept the constitutional principle of two entities and three constituent peoples.

Karan said that the privatization of joint institutions that was currently taking place was undermining the overall sovereignty of BiH, while at the same time strengthening the constitutional capacities of Republika Srpska and the constitutional need for Srpska to strengthen its institutions.
