BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 20 /SRNA/ - The Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan, told SRNA that Republika Srpska has predominantly invested in student standard, and in infrastructure facilities needed to create adequate working conditions for teaching staff.
Karan said that the standard for teachers and professional staff - research associates and assistants - has also been raised, and projects that did not previously exist are now being developed.
"When it comes to student standard, the Government of Republika Srpska has made progress that others cannot boast of. For our hardworking students who successfully advance year after year, studying is free of charge. When we talk about student housing, meals, and other things, I believe we have reached an enviable level of standard", Karan said in the SRNA podcast.
Karan, a professor of constitutional law, added that the unitarization of BiH, the so-called civic state, is the process in which the Serb people would lose their subjectivity and their status as a state-forming nation, would not participate in decision-making at the BiH level, and would become a national minority, but Republika Srpska strongly resists this through the strength of its institutions.
Karan assessed that Republika Srpska has stable institutions, which are the only ones that can provide adequate responses to the challenges to which Srpska has been exposed for the past 30 years.
"It is the right and duty of these institutions to protect the Constitution and the constitutional order, as well as all human rights guaranteed to citizens, but also to build and develop Republika Srpska for the betterment of citizens’ lives", Karan emphasized.
Karan stated that the Dayton Agreement created the only possible framework for coexistence in a multi-ethnic state like BiH, which is a federal system and not a form of domination.
He emphasized that the Dayton Agreement established key principles – that no nation can impose its will on another, that the will of one nation cannot be the will of the others, and that all three nations have their own autonomous will.
Karan, who is also the SNSD candidate for President of Republika Srpska in the early elections to be held on Sunday, September 23, stated that his goal is peace, stabilization, and prosperity for Republika Srpska, noting that the upcoming elections represent another referendum and that he expects unity among the Serb people on this matter.
"This is certainly another one of our referendums. Referendums are situations in which the people choose on the most important matters. I would say – a new plebiscite. Is there anything more important than protecting Republika Srpska and our freedom from attacks on it? There isn’t! We expect unity among our people, unity in our actions, and that is the path I will follow. My path is peace, stabilization, and the prosperity of Republika Srpska. My path is the will of the people; the people decide our path, and we are only those who walk it. Our path is the path of the people", Karan said.
The new episode of the podcast, featuring the Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan, will be available to users of the SRNA service tomorrow at 10:00, as well as on our YouTube channel and social media platforms.
