BANJA LUKA, JUNE 30 /SRNA/ – Acting Director of "Putevi Republike Srpske" /Republika Srpska Roads/ Miroslav Janković told SRNA that this public company will complete the construction of the bridge over the Vrbas River in the Banja Luka neighborhood of Česma within a month to a month and a half, but expressed regret that it will not be opened for traffic because the City of Banja Luka has not built the access roads.

"I once again appeal to the people in the City Administration to complete their part of the job as soon as possible, that is, the obligation they have undertaken in this regard, so that everything can be put into function to the satisfaction of all citizens, especially those living in that part of Banja Luka," said Janković.

He specified that by the decision of the Government of Republika Srpska, "Putevi" was tasked with building the bridge, while the access roads were to be built by the City of Banja Luka.

"The degree of completion of works on the bridge is about 90 percent. The total investment value is BAM 6.6 million, of which just under six has already been financed. What remains is to install the final layers of pavement and asphalt on the bridge, the guardrails, and practically the finishing touches," Janković stated.

He pointed out that in the past month and a half to two months, the problem was that heavy machinery could not reach the bridge due to the lack of access roads.

"However, we want to respect the deadline agreed with the contractor, which is why we will build access to the bridge from one side, so that heavy machines – finishers and rollers – can reach the bridge," Janković said.
