BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 7 /SRNA/ – The Government of Republika Srpska has approved the submission of information to the National Assembly regarding the activities of Srpska's institutions and Srpska representatives in the joint institutions of BiH concerning Croatia's intention to dispose of radioactive and nuclear waste at the Trgovska Gora site, which reads that Croatia is refusing to cooperate on the issue.
The information specifies that Croatia is refusing to cooperate and provide details about the activities it is conducting on its territory related to the construction of a nuclear facility at Trgovska Gora, thereby endangering the lives and health of people in 13 municipalities within the Una River basin.
At the same time, it is causing concern throughout the region, especially in the territory of BiH, reads the statement by the Government's Public Relations Bureau.
The Ministry for Spatial Planning, Construction, and Ecology of Republika Srpska will continue to monitor all activities in Croatia, including procedures aimed at activating all legal and professional mechanisms to permanently prevent the construction of a storage and disposal facility for radioactive waste at Trgovska Gora.
"The priority of all institutions is to protect the right to life and health of resudents living in the Una River basin area, because Trgovska Gora is a matter of survival for the population's life and health in the affected area," the statement reads.
