IDDO NETANYAHU: JEWISH PEOPLE HOLDS SERBS IN HIGH ESTEEM

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 31 /SRNA/ – Israeli writer Iddo Netanyahu has said in Banja Luka this evening that the Israeli people holds Serbs in high esteem because of all the assistance they provided to them during the German occupation in World War II.

"Israel is interest in everything happening in the Western Balkans, Republika Srpska and BiH," Netanyahu told the press before the promotion of his book Yoni’s Last Battle: The Rescue Operation at Entebbe, 1976, at the Republika Srpska Government seat.

The promotion is being attended by Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan, Acting Director of the International Cooperation Office Ana Trišić-Babić, Director of the Official Gazette of Republika Srpska Miloš Lukić, Republika Srpska Government ministers, and numerous representatives of the political, social and cultural life of Srpska.

The book provides a moving account of one of the boldest rescue operations in modern history.

Based on actual events, the book follows the dramatic circumstances surrounding the hijacking of an aircraft and the operation to free the hostages in Entebbe, during which the unit’s commander, Yoni Netanyahu, was killed.

The promotion is organised by the Republika Srpska Social - Political Research Centre and the Official Gazette of Republika Srpska.
